Borussia Dortmund delivered a stunning performance, crushing Celtic 7-1 in their UEFA Champions League group-stage match on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi was the star of the night, completing a hat-trick within the first half, scoring in the 11th, 29th, and 42nd minutes. His clinical finishing overwhelmed the Celtic defense, setting the tone for the German side’s dominant display.
Emre Can opened the scoring in the 7th minute from the penalty spot and Celtic briefly showed signs of life with Daizen Maeda equalizing early on in the 9th, but it was not enough to stop Dortmund’s momentum.
Following Adeyemi’s hat-trick, further goals from Sébastien Haller and Serhou Guirassy added to Celtic’s misery. Haller scored twice, and Guirassy contributed a brace in the second half, making it a night to forget for the Scottish champions.
Dortmund’s relentless attack saw them notch an incredible 13 shots on target, leaving Celtic with little room to breathe. With this victory, Dortmund reinforced their reputation as serious contenders for the Champions League title.
