Plateau state governor, Gov. Simon Bako Lalong has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Jos north and south local government areas of the state.
Following the attacks on peaceful #EndSARS protesters today, 20th, October, by hoodlums causing panic, confusion and even deaths in the business district of the city.
In a tweet shared on this twitter page, it reads,
“I am deeply saddened and shocked by the unfortunate degeneration of the #EndSARS protest which began as a peaceful exercise by youths in exercise of their constitutional rights to ventilate their grievances.
Following an appraisal of the situation and the need to stop further escalation, I hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on Jos North and Jos South Local Government Areas of the State beginning from 8pm today, 20th October, 2020.
Nobody, except those on essential services are to be allowed unto the streets.
I appeal to all citizens to support the Government as we safeguard the peace of our State which we have worked very hard to build.”
The curfew is to start off from 8pm tonight, 20th, October.
